NVIDIA’s "ChatGPT Moment" for Robotics

Forget chatbots; the big news this week is Physical AI. At CES 2026, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang declared the “ChatGPT moment for robotics” with the release of Project GR00T N1.6.

The TL;DR:

  • The Brain: NVIDIA dropped new open-source models (GR00T and Cosmos) that allow humanoid robots to learn tasks just by watching video of humans—no manual coding required.

  • The Hardware: They launched the Jetson T4000, a $1,999 “Blackwell” AI chip designed to be a high-performance brain for robots. It’s 4x faster than previous versions and fits in a 70-watt power envelope.

  • The Players: Boston Dynamics (Atlas) and NEURA Robotics (who just unveiled a Porsche-designed humanoid) are already using this tech to move robots out of labs and into factories and homes.

Basically, the tech that makes Gemini and GPT-4 smart has finally been successfully stuffed into metal bodies that can navigate the real world.
