How we work
Gr!dline is a young publication. Rather than list a masthead we do not yet have, here is the standard every story is held to.
Sourcing
Every article carries its sources, listed at the foot of the piece and linked to the original reporting or primary document. Where we build on another outlet's work, we say so and link to it. Our credits page lists every outlet we aggregate and every image we use, with its licence.
Numbers
We publish a figure only when we can name where it came from. Market data on this site is fetched from named sources on a schedule and labelled with the time it was captured; where a source is unavailable, the number is removed rather than estimated or carried forward.
Bylines
Articles currently carry the institutional Gr!dline byline. Named bylines will appear when there are named journalists behind them.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, tell us and we will correct it and say that we did. Corrections are noted on the article itself, not quietly edited away.
